In my opinion one of the most exciting designers on New York Design week 2013 is Doug Johnston. Doug is from Texas but lives and works in New York with his wife Tomoe Matsuoka. He has a Master in architecture but his work includes art, design, architecture and music. Doug uses different kinds of techniques in his work but the most common one is an old technique in which cotton rope is stitched with nylon thread to form such as bowls and baskets. Wonderful design!
